Floyd Faglie, Esq.
Floyd Faglie is a graduate of Florida State University College of Law in Tallahassee Florida. Prior to joining the Tallahassee office of John Staunton, P.A., Floyd served a five year tenure as the Senior Staff Attorney representing the State of Florida, Agency for Health Care Administration in all legal matters relating to Medicaid Third-Party Liens, Medicaid Estate Recovery, and Medicaid Trust Recovery projects. During this time, Floyd also handled all litigation and appellate matters on a statewide basis concerning Medicaid’s right to recover from personal injury lawsuits. During Floyd’s tenure representing Medicaid, Florida’s lien recoveries nearly doubled and Florida was successful in cementing an absolute recovery scheme in several appellate victories including Strafford v. AHCA, Englich v. AHCA, and Ross v. AHCA. Under Floyd’s leadership, Florida gained the reputation of being known as an aggressive lien recovery state.
Floyd is now a partner at Staunton & Faglie, PL, where his practice continues to be focused on helping attorneys maximize client recoveries through preservation of public assistance post settlement and by aggressively challenging and reducing medical liens. Floyd’s memberships include the Florida Bar, the State Bar of Georgia, the Academy of Florida Elder Law Attorneys, the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, the Elder Law Section of the Florida Bar, the Trial Lawyer Section of the Florida Bar, the Capital City Justice Association, the Jefferson County Bar Association, and the Elder Law Section of the State Bar of Georgia. In addition, he is also an EAGLE member of the Florida Justice Association. Floyd often speaks at seminars regarding Medicaid, Medicare, VA, TriCare, ERISA, and private health insurance lien resolution, as well as the use of Special Needs Trust, Pooled Trust, Medicare Set-Asides and §468B Qualified Settlement Funds.
